The Footpath Story

Initiated due to the relentless determination of a group of college friends, Hamara Footpath is a story that started on the pavements of Mumbai, in 2001. When, with a passion for empowering, and making a difference, the young men would take to the streets to teach its eager dwellers.

Today, some 24 years later, and with the help of an equally motivated team, Hamara Footpath has made meaningful impact on many hundreds of lives within the underprivileged sector. The transformative stories of the lives of the children and families continue to inspire the entire organisation and offer numerous more beneficiaries the hope for radical improvement in their own life circumstances.

What We Do

— Offer Holistic Education

We are a voluntary organisation providing holistic education to children from the weak and underprivileged sections of society. We execute over 20 academic and non-academic programs.

— Run Diverse Programs

Our programs are intensive and encompass education in subjects such as English, Math, Life Skills, Financial Competence, and Computer Literacy. We work on many aspects simultaneously.

— Ensure Transformation

The objective remains to make beneficiaries educated, financially independent, and overall good human beings. This approach has made a meaningful impact on many hundreds of lives.

— Target All Ages

We cater to children primarily in two age groups: 2–9 years and 10–17 years. We also target parents to ensure a fundamental shift in their lives.

— Improve Knowledge Levels

Our commitment is to the Fruit of Hope—learning through quality education designed to improve knowledge levels. The NGO has reached over 800+ recipients thus far.

— Maintain Active Team

We operate with a motivated team of 19 core members and over 12 active volunteers who invest time and expertise. Our team includes teachers with specific subject expertise.
